2020 saw most of home bound and in our most comfortable attires. Be it lounge wear, Pjs or something more comfortable to work in, you played to your strengths and stayed relaxed. Even the festive season saw us dress in utilitarian silhouettes and comfort was the priority for most people. The forecast for 2021 seem to follow similar lines to 2020 where comfort will be the highest priority. IANSlife spoke to industry veterans to shed light on trends that may rule 2021. Many of them forecasted that the new designs will reflect a level of comfort along with new takes on old classics.

2021 is about comfort clothing translating through boyfriend jackets and waist cinching silhouettes, ruffles and voluminous sleeves, flowing gowns, traditional anarkalis to name a few. This season is also about colour but more on the pastel side. Khaki/ military colours are also looking to make a comeback this season. Heavy embroidery dresses, self-print/ self-weave in solid colours ae something to keep an eye for as well.

My prediction for the season will be lighter hues in Purples, pinks, blues will dominate the fashion scene with white/ off-white stealing the show. Pair these colours with contrast-coloured dupattas, pants or jewellery to make a statement piece.
